Shanna Moakler's most obvious connection to the mother-daughter teams of contestants on the CW reality series
Crowned might be her own pageant experience through the Miss USA competition. But she does share something else: she, too, is a mom.
Her kids are mainly too young to have developed quite the dramatic relationships you sometimes see on
Crowned, with her children with Travis Barker Landon Asher Alabama Luella at 4-years-old and 2-years-old respectively, and her daughter from a prior relationship with boxer Oscar de la Hoya, Atiana Cecilia, at 8-years old. The Crowned judged shared recently some of the family fun they had gotten up to.
For the holidays, she says, “My kids and I spent a fun day at Disneyland and watched the holiday fireworks and parade! Then, of course, family flew in, and we made gumdrop trees and spent a warm, wonderful present-filled day at home!”
While the moms and daughters on
Crowned show that sometimes, even they can compete for attention, Shanna is still on the lookout to make sure her children feel special and unique. Her daughter Alabama's birthday falls on Christmas Eve. So to make sure the day doesn't get lost in the holiday shuffle, she says, “I celebrate Alabama's birthday at 'the half' (at 1 and 1/2 and 2 and 1/2) so she has her own special day and people aren't burnt out from the holiday!”
Don't expect for her Hollywood brood to be too spoiled, though. She keeps it simple when shopping, saying, “I shop for the kids at the Gap! They grow so fast! I have 3 kids, so I'd spend a fortune otherwise! And I like the Gap Kids clothes.” Of course, every once in a while, it's time for a splurge, and so she admits, “ I also get some specialty pieces at Fred Segal or Kitson Kids.”
