Joe Mantegna was born on November 13, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. He appears as one of the members of the cast in the CBS network’s crime drama television series Criminal Minds. The son of an Italian-American family, he studied at Morton East High School before going on to graduate with a degree in acting from the Goodman School of Drama back in 1969. Mantegna has also performed on Broadway, and won a Tony Award for his role of Richard Roma in the David Mamet play Glengarry Glen Ross. Among the television series he has worked on are

Frasier. David Rossi is portrayed by Joe Mantegna in the CBS network’s television show Criminal Minds. He is a veteran FBI BAU Supervisory Special Agent, who was formerly enjoying an early retirement until he decided to voluntarily return to active service for the BAU. Rossi had originally retired in order to teach, by going on book tours and the lecture circuit.
