Beginning February 6, 2011, a new elite task force will be invading our TV screens and it will be headed by none other than Forest Whitaker. The Academy Award-winning actor's new show, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, is a spin-off series that spawned from the successful CBS police procedural drama Criminal Minds and focuses on a team of agents within the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) who employs unusual and aggressive strategies to capture dangerous criminals.
Though the spin-off has a lot in common with its roots, including cast member Kirsten Vangsness who reprises her role as Penelope Garcia, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior has a fresh roster of stars to offer. Aside from Whitaker, who plays the incorruptible unit chief Special Agent Sam Cooper, Janeane Garofalo jumps in as Beth Griffith, a former member of the FBI Threat Assessment Task Force and the newest member of Cooper's team who is not afraid to speak her mind. Rounding up the cast are Matt Ryan as former British Special Forces soldier Mick Rawson, Beau Garrett as the charming yet tough agent Gina LaSalle, and Michael Kelly as former convict turned profiler John "Prophet" Sims.
While Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior hasn't premiered yet, fans of Criminal Minds have already gotten a glimpse of the new team as part of a backdoor pilot that aired last April in which the original BAU team worked with the new group in order to capture a serial killer in San Francisco.
