After the failed efforts of Fish Police in 1992 and Family Dog in 1993, CBS tries its luck once again to launch an animated series called Creature Comforts, which will be part of its primetime slot beginning Monday, June 4 at 8 pm ET/PT.

So far, only Fox has had sustained success with primetime animated shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy. With the order of seven half-hour episodes of Creature Comforts as a midseason replacement for 2006-2007, CBS attempts to give viewers with a fun and distinct experience apart from what the television circuit is offering right now.

Originally a short film, Creature Comforts features excerpts from real person interviews in a unique format, which makes use of various animals to produce insightful commentaries and humor. Eventually, the feature film has expanded into a British series, which now has an American version.

In every episode, interviews with ordinary Americans from across the country will be featured, tapping a variety of subjects like trials, truth about likes, love, and almost anything under the sun.

CBS’ Creature Comforts, which is currently in production, is co-produced by Aardman Animations and The Gotham Group. Under the supervision of Richard Goleszowski, the U.K. director of the program, the American version of the animated series will be remade using American voices – with coyotes and grizzly bears instead of sheep stoats and rabbits.
