Many notable celebrities have already graced
Cory in the House such as George Takei, who appeared as Ronald in the episode “Air Force One Too Many” back in June, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who most recently guest-starred in the episode “Never The Dwayne Shall Meet,” which aired on September 21. But as the Disney spin-off heads to its second season, cast members are eager to work with even bigger names in Hollywood.
Jason Dolley, who plays Newton "Newt" Livingston III, the son of a senator and the Chief Justice, and the best friend of Meena Paroom (
Maiara Walsh) and Cory Baxter (
Kyle Massey) on
Cory in the House, wants Robert Redford to make a guest appearance on the show even if its just wishful thinking.
“I love his comfort on the screen,” Dolley said of Robert Redford. “He has a very experienced persona and he's really good. I mean his amazing in all [aspects]. I personally love him in
The Sting. He and Paul Newman just compliment each other in every possible way…it's just perfect.”
Redford is an award-winning actor and one of Hollywood's biggest stars whose appeal has lasted for several decades. Apart from
The Sting, his credits include
All the President's Men, The Way We Were, Up Close & Personal, and
Indecent Proposal, among others.
When asked who she would like to work with on
Cory, Maiara Walsh said, “Will Ferrell! I love that guy. He's hilarious. I think he would the extra spark into the show. It would be really fun if he played my… uncle or something. I think he would do a wonderful job.”
Unlike Redford who is more noted for his dramatic acting, Ferrell is popularly known for his comedic antics on
Saturday Night Live, and in movies like
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and
Blades of Glory.
Fans can catch
Cory in the House every Friday at 3/2c on Disney Channel.
