Confessions of a Matchmaker is a reality comedy series on A&E which stars strong-willed matchmaker Patti Novak. For the past six years, Patti has been assisting hundreds of singles in Buffalo in finding the perfect romance. This time, she lets the cameras inside her own matchmaking service, Buffalo Niagara Introductions to give the people a first hand look on the real world of dating.
Set in Buffalo, New York- a city that has the highest population of singles per capita- the series follows desperate singles seeking for Patti’s knowledge and expertise on matchmaking. Patti assists them on the whole process, from the initial interview, to the actual dating and even up to the follow-up. At the end of each date, Patti assesses their performance and decides whether the date has been successful or not. Of course in real world dating, people are flawed and things may not always end up in favor of her clients. Thus, Patti makes sure that her clients have the right look and attitude before going on a date. Branded as the Simon Cowell of dating, Patti is known for her brutal honesty and gut instincts which she believes are the key to her success as a matchmaker.
The series proves that no one does it like Patti Novak. In its pilot episode, Patti faces the biggest challenge of her matchmaking career as she tries to find a match for her 41-year-old virgin client John. Patti takes advantage of John’s attractive features and sets him up on a date with sexy Lisa. But things didn’t work as planned as John had always been the quiet type. Now it’s up to Patti’s blunt advice for her client to really come out of his shell and finally have a partner.
