Yes, February. Hey, I said it was a distant
ray of light. Focus on the positive.
The news came first from an unusual -- but probably reliable -- source: The Twitter feed of Community
star Yvette Nicole Brown. On Tuesday, October 30, Brown posted
"Guys, #Community officially has an airdate: Thursday, February 7th at 8pm!"
The actress who plays Shirley on Community immediately followed up this first tweet with a second
"February 7th is #October19th! Who knew?! :)"
If you don't get the October 19th reference (other than maybe knowing that was the original date on which Community
was supposed to return this fall), you really need to click this link to watch a video released by the Community cast
Seriously, click the link. Even if you have seen the video before, it will make you happy.
What does all of this mean for Community
and its rather rabid (but awesome!) fan base? Well, for one thing, it means that there is no move to Friday nights for the chronically under-watched comedy. Community
will still be going up against the comedy powerhouse that is The Big Bang Theory
, and we can expect that Community
will still lose that David and Goliath battle.
At least we'll still have something to blame any low ratings on!
Also, Friday nights are not a good choice for a show like Community
. Especially when paired with the laugh track-laden Whitney
and the spooky drama **Grimm. That really didn't make any sense.
How are you planning to pass the time until Community
returns to NBC on February 7? Can you wait that long? Does this seem like a good thing or a bad thing for the show? Leave your comments below!(Images courtesy of NBC)
