Born on April 15, 1974 in Miami, Florida, Danny Pino graduated from Florida International University, as well as New York University’s theater program. As a child, he aspired to be an actor and initially pursued his dream by getting involved in school plays. Later, he penetrated the theater world with productions at the Lincoln Center, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the New York Shakespeare Festival. As a television actor, he got his first break on the sitcom
Men, Women and Dogs. This was followed by movies like
Flicka and
The Lost City, and the drama series
The Shield, where he was notably known for his portrayal of the Mexican drug lord Armadillo Quintero.
On the crime drama series
Cold Case, Pino plays Detective Scotty Valens. He portrays Detective Lilly Rush’s partner in the Philadelphia homicide squad. He appears confident and strong-willed, which makes the plot more interesting to watch. His inclusion on the series certainly gives him the opportunity to be one of the eye candies of the show.
