Cold Case stars Danny Pino, Kathryn Morris and John FinnAs the 2007-2008 television continues, the number of new episodes for several television shows is rapidly dwindling.  In the case of CBS' Cold Case, only 13 episodes were completed before the strike began, and last Sunday's broadcast was already the 12th in the season.  This means that show fans only have one more new episode to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Cold Case's remaining pre-strike episode is called “Spiders.”  For those who want a sneak peek into the upcoming installment, read on for some mild spoilers.

In “Spiders,” the team re-opens the 1998 case of a murdered teenage girl after her father is arrested for severely beating the girl's three-year-old stepsister.  Because of his abusive nature, the father becomes the chief murder suspect, but the team soon discovers that his 17-year-old daughter had run off with a Neo-Nazi ex-con shortly before she was murdered.

Series regulars Kathryn Morris (Lilly Rush), Danny Pino (Scotty Valens), John Finn (Lt. John Stillman), Jeremy Ratchford (Nick Vera), Thom Barry (Will Jeffries) and Tracie Thoms (Kat Miller) will appear in the episode.

Guest-starring in “Spiders” are Emily Wallace as Tamyra Borden (1998), Jeffrey Combs (The 4400) as Sly Borden, Johnny Lewis (Shark, CSI) as the younger Truitt “Spider” Leland, Jilon Ghai (Bad Blood) as the older Truitt, Diana Scarwid (Prison Break) as Rayanne Leland, Jacob Fishel as Elliot Leopold, Sonia Maria Martin (CSI: NY) as Nora Mariposa, Bobby Soto as Miguel Mariposa, Brianne Davis (CSI: Miami, Entourage, Veronica Mars) as the younger Lindsay Port, Jamie Denbo (Without A Trace) as the older Lindsay, Mandy Freund (Close to Home) as Kate Carley and Dondre T. Whitfield (Ghost Whisperer) as Jarrod Jones.

“Spiders” was written by Cold Case consulting producer Liz W. Garcia and directed by John Peters.  It is expected to air on Sunday, January 20.

Production on Cold Case's fifth season shut down shortly after the strike commenced in November.  At the time, Morris said that the strike had made things “very emotional on the set,” especially after the writers chose not to “pump out a few extra scripts to help the crews get through the holidays.”

She added, “As much as I respect and understand what the writers are doing, catching up with the technology, to see this crew getting split up is painful."
