Vivian McArthur Volkoff, good or evil? Based on her parentage, I vote the latter. But as with most things on Chuck, we're left wondering. Read on for the details on the potential new superbad.
The Key to My Heart
Jurek, Christoph and Antonia. All Volkoff associates, now dead, because of a mysterious key.
Meanwhile, it's like Cupid threw up in Chuck and Morgan's apartment! Morgan has a bearskin rug (bought in bulk from Big Lots!) and the living room for 90 minutes. Chuck and Sarah claim the bedroom to watch
Love Actually, a hit with ladies and gentlemen alike. V-Day with girlfriends?! Totally fist-bump-worthy.
Of course, it all goes awry. Chocolate strawberries, angel wings, passionate breathing? OK, sure. But Casey happens to walk inside and see Alex and Morgan "transferring energy" on the floor (aka making weird noises and spreading chocolate sauce on each other's faces while blindfolded). Talk about awkward. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
It's Just Like Eyes Wide Shut
Or not. The team travels to England to protect Volkoff's apparent successor, Vivian McArthur, from getting killed. Away from the masquerade party, Chuck and Sarah follow Vivian into the horse stables. She claims she has no idea what's happening. Boris follows, shooting at the trio and demanding the key. Why is Vivian so important? Oh yeah, she's Volkoff's spawn!
The Born Identity
Chuck believes that Vivian didn't know her father's real identity. Vivian explains to Chuck that she never spent any time with Volkoff, but now that she knows all about him, she can do what she wants -- except she doesn't really know what that is. Chuck assures her that it will come like it did for him. Taking control of her life, she offers to use herself as bait, and Chuck agrees to help.
A Horse, of Course
The team sends Sarah off on Artemis, Vivian's horse, dressed as Vivian. Quite a good doppelganger! Since it is Vivian's ritual every morning, they think it'll be a good opportunity to catch Boris. But somehow, Boris trips up their plan. Sarah falls off the horse, Chuck shows off his gymnastic prowess, and Casey shoots a few bad guys. Where's Vivian? Back at the stable. She has a shotgun hidden in her saddle and down goes Boris, chest riddled with bullets. Yikes!
So that key? Vivian's necklace! She heads to Volkoff's office and tries out the key on a horse statue revealing ... something we can't see! Could it have something to do with the family business? Was Volkoff really grooming her to be his successor?
This Happened Too!
- Morgan is moving out! It really is the end of an era. He realizes that Chuck and Sarah are getting married soon, and he needs to grow up. Of course, they'll still be BFFs and have game night every Monday. And in a sweet moment, instead of splitting up their original 1977 Kenner line Han Solo and Chewbacca toys collectibles, Morgan decides to keep it in the family -- the duo now stand guard in baby Clara's nursery.
- Speaking of Clara, how hilarious is it that she can only fall asleep listening to Jeffster?
- A woman named Jane Bentley from the NCS tries to lure Casey to lead her new team. He's curious, but even more so when she says the mission's in Castle, through a door marked "Restricted Zone" and down a long hallway.
Lots of mysteries surrounding this episode. What are you most looking forward to being revealed -- what lies behind the screen in Volkoff's office or what's down that long hallway in Castle?
