Shannen Maria Doherty was born on April 12, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee, and is an actress best known for her portrayals in the shows Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed. One of her first appearances was in Little House on the Prairie where she played Jenny Wilder. She was noticed on this role and was cast again for a role of Kris Witherspoon on the family drama Our House. In 1989 she was cast for her first film role in Heathers and a year later she was cast for the Aaron Spelling-produced TV series Beverly Hills 90210. In 1998 she was cast in another Spelling production entitled Charmed in which she played Prue Halliwell. Three years later, she left the show. Doherty had also done hosting projects like that for Scare Tactics and her own show, Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty. She has been married several times, but had separated from her husbands for different reasons. Among her ex-husbands are Ashley Hamilton and Rick Salomon.

Prudence "Prue" Halliwell is portrayed by Shannen Doherty in Charmed. She is the firstborn child of Patty Halliwell, a witch, and Victor Bennet, a normal human being with no magical powers whatsoever. She was born with the power of telekinesis and was an A-list student back in high school, where she aspired to be a photographer. She was very protective of her family and was a powerful witch, however she was defeated and lost her life while battling with the demon Shax.
