Holly Marie Combs was born on December 3, 1973 in San Diego, California. She was born to her then 15 year old mother who married her biological father but separated two years later. When she was seven, she and her mother moved to New York because her mother was pursuing an acting career. At a young age she was attractive, landing her many print ads and commercials. She grew to like acting and pursued it later in her life. She was educated in Beekman Hill Elementary and The Professional Children's School of Acting. Her major role on television included that of her appearance in Picket Fences and also auditioned for the role of Prue Halliwell in Charmed. However, she got the role of Piper instead. Her film appearances include Born on the Fourth of July, Dr. Giggles, A Reason to Believe, and Ocean's Eleven.

Piper Halliwell is played by Holly Marie Combs in the magical series Charmed. Piper is the second daughter of Patty Halliwell and Victor Bennett, and was born with the power of molecular immobilization. She is the mediator and most motherly of the three sisters. She is also a trained accountant and chef, and used to work in a restaurant bar Quake. After her job at Quake she moved on to managing her own bar and restaurant, P3. She married Whitelighter Leo after a long and challenging relationship with him.
