MTV and Dr. Drew Talk About 'Sex...With Mom and Dad'

While parents might be blaming the media for the rampant rate at which teens engage in sexual activities, some media outfits are moving towards the more educational and informational aspect of broadcasting, encouraging families to communicate with their children at an early age and take responsibility in guiding them throughout their adolescent years. In fact, MTV has cooked up a new series that will address this issue as to avoid misleading the youth when it comes to sex and intimate relationships. Along with
Dr. Drew, MTV is launching
Sex…With Mom and Dad on Monday, September 29 at 7pm.
"This is a unique and compelling format from overseas that we redeveloped and adapted for the MTV audience about getting families to talk openly about a taboo topic," EVP, MTV Programming and Series Development Tony DiSanto said. "'The talk' is a personal choice for every family, but what Dr. Drew uncovers in this show is that by talking openly and honestly about sex, families can re-program their way of thinking, break down walls, reinforce trust and create deeper bonds."
In line with this, the half-hour long show will feature Celebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew, who will discuss certain tips and guidelines when it comes parent-children dialogue involving teens and topics such as sex, dating and relationships. Specific issues will also be discussed, such as the problems of a promiscuous young man whose mother can’t control his sexual behavior, a virgin high school graduate who is heading for college but can’t get her father to talk to her about sex and a gay teen whose mother is troubled because her son has a thing for bad boys.
Dr. Drew will come in to get the family members to talk about sex openly after he points out the problem and sends them off to participate in fun activities that would help them open up.
Executively produced by Bryan Scott and Lesley Goldman,
Sex…With Mom and Dad premieres on September 29 at 7pm.
