Ricardo Emmanuel “Kurupt” Brown appears as one of the rapper mentors in the MTV reality television competition series Celebrity Rap Superstar. His celebrity apprentice on the show is
Sebastian Bach. He is an American rapper and record label executive who was born on November 23, 1972 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Brown associated himself with Philadelphia’s rap scene, and with personalities such as Beanie Sigel. He first got to meet Snoop Dogg during a rap battle in a club one night, and both of them admired each other’s skill. The two of them agreed that if either of them acquired a record deal, they would also bring the other onboard.
When Snoop Dogg was subsequently picked by Dr. Dre and signed a contract with Death Row Records, Kurupt was likewise brought along to the label. Together with Snoop’s cousin Daz Dillinger, they formed the rap group Tha Dogg Pound. Among the albums he has worked on are Space Boogie: Smoke Odyssey, Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha, and Against the Grain. He has also had a history of feuding with other recording artists, such as Ja Rule, 50 Cent, and Foxy Brown. Apart from his career as a rapper, he has also acted in the television series Fastlane.
