Infamous internet blogger
Perez Hilton, a contestant on MTV's latest reality series
Celebrity Rap Superstar, is set to host an episode of
MADtv's upcoming season.
Hilton, a self-proclaimed “Queen of All Media,” will appear on Saturday, September 29, for a special pop-culture installment of
MADtv entitled “I WANT MY MADtv.” The episode will feature popular music videos, celebrity impersonations and commercial parodies.
Poking fun at celebrities and calling for a mass “coming-out” in Hollywood has, funnily enough, made Perez Hilton a celebrity himself. Prior to setting up his gossip-centered blog site, Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira, dabbled in acting and briefly worked as a media relations assistant for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
He launched his blogging career in 2005, and has since gained notoriety for his celebrity-bashing. Not surprisingly, Perez Hilton has faced much legal troubles for his website's content.
Despite his reputation, Hilton is doing quite well in
Celebrity Rap Superstar. For the first week, during which he performed “Right Thurr,” he was selected safe by judges
DMC, DA Brat and
Big Boy. For the second week, he performed "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West, and although he was not among those who were saved by the judges, he managed to stay in the competition through the viewers votes. Last Thursday's episode had Hilton and the other remaining contestants performing their own rap compositions.
Prior to Hilton, who is mentored by
Tone Loc on
Celebrity Rap Superstar, fellow reality star
Jeff Probst (

MadTV's new season. The premiere of the FOX comedy series, which aired on Saturday, September 15, was hosted by television personality,
Jerry Springer (
The Jerry Springer Show, Dancing with the Stars, America's Got Talent).
Celebrity Rap Superstar airs live every Thursday night at 10pm on MTV.
