First off, in
Cavemen vocabulary, the term “shaver” refers to a caveman who shaves his body hair in order to pass himself off as a Homo Sapien.
That said, the episode has Joel (English), who is passed up for an executive training program at work, joining a new apartment neighbor named Jake in a motivational networking program. Nick (Kroll), however, believes that Jake is a “shaver.”
Meanwhile, Thorne (Lemelin) has a hard time keeping her hands off Andy (Huntington) when she finds out that he goes wild with road rage when driving.
The episode was written by Jace Richdale and directed by Ken Whittingham. Guest stars include Jim Pirri (
Chuck, NCIS, Without A Trace) as Jake, Eddie Shin (
Pushing Daisies, Point Pleasant) as Chuck, Nynno Ahli (
Ghost Whisperer, ER, NCIS) as a businessman and Loren Lazerine (
Ugly Betty, Girlfriends, Criminal Minds) as a driver.
Like its fellow freshman comedy series,
Carpoolers, ABC's
Cavemen has also been experiencing a drop in viewership. While the series premiere, which aired on October 2, earned 9.06 million viewers, the show's second week out drew only 6.96 million. Last week's episode saw a slight drop, earning only 6.94 million viewers.
The network has been working hard to promote
Cavemen, and GEICO's new ad placements featuring the cavemen have helped boost show awareness among moviegoers. The 2-minute ad spot, which has the cavemen expressing their romantic woes through a Frank Sinatra song, is being shown on 4,062 screens in more than 300 theaters across the country.
