It's possibly bad news for the legions of Nathan Fillion fans out there: Castle will not attend the San Diego Comic-Con in 2012. Community, on the other hand, plans to take the Con yet again.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Rumors about who was in and who was out for this year's San Diego Comic-Con surfaced at the Critics' Choice Awards ceremony on Monday night. Official word from Comic-Con and/or the networks has yet to come.TVLine
first reported the news about Community
's inclusion in another Comic-Con. Although a hit at last year's Con, many had speculated that Community
might want to sit this one out. After all, the fan-unfriendly decision to oust Dan Harmon as Community
showrunner means that a Comic-Con panel is all but assured some measure of protest and/or awkward questioning.
Of course, this is Community
we're talking about. If the show stays true to form, protest can be twisted into some form of comedic brilliance. Let's hope that's the case...
The news about Castle
's absence from Comic-Con in 2012 is much sadder. Sure, Castle
isn't exactly what you would call standard Comic-Con fare. But Nathan Fillion is in it! And Nathan Fillion is very much Comic-Con fare.
Responding to the rumors emanating from the Critics' Choice Awards, Castle
producer Terri Edda Miller tweeted
: "As far as we know, the show was not invited to ComicCon this year." Miller followed up with more details in a second tweet
: "We've been honored 2 b invited b4. They [ABC] have new shows 2 put forward now! Tho we will miss U"
So it doesn't look good for Castle
's chances at Comic-Con.
Can the same be said for star Nathan Fillion? Could the Captain and hero of the TV-geek world actually miss out on the San Diego Comic-Con? There's no word yet on this, but it's entirely possible that a Firefly
reunion or even just the chance for massive fan adoration could bring Fillion to the Con.
We'll have to see...
