The Castle season 5 finale airs on Monday, May 13 at 10pm on ABC. BuddyTV was able to view the episode, called "Watershed" and we're here to give you the lowdown on what you can expect.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
We're not revealing any major spoilers, but do expect some minor spoilers ahead for the episode.
First up, here's the official episode synopsis from ABC:
"Watershed" - In the Season Finale, an interview with a high-profile federal law enforcement agency forces Beckett to reconsider what she wants out of her job -- and out of her relationship with Castle. Meanwhile, the body of a young woman is found floating inside the water tank of a skid row flop house, but as the team investigate, they discover that her final resting place is just one of many strange things about her death.
Murder, shmurder, it's all about "Caskett"
Okay so yeah, there's a murder in this episode (duh), but it was almost a distraction to the real story: What is happening with Castle and Beckett? Still, it does turn into a pretty interesting case and it also lets all of the characters interact the way that they normally do. Without a murder we wouldn't get Castle coming up with wild theories for Beckett to shoot down or have a reason to see Lanie or get Ryan and Esposito out investigating a lead on their own and having one of their great bonding moments. All of which you will see in this episode.
Alexis needs some special kind of help from her dad
In our interview with Moll Quinn last week, we revealed that Alexis will have her own storyline in this episode and this is definitely true. While it doesn't come close to overshadowing the main murder storyline or the secondary Caskett storyline, there is something she and her father both need to discuss. Alexis needs her dad's help with something and it might surprise you to find out how he'll give it to her.
Beckett's decision may trigger one in Castle
Even though Beckett is the one going off on a very important interview and taking a hard look at her relationship, that doesn't mean Castle isn't doing some thinking of his own. We won't say where all of this thinking and decision will lead exactly, but there could be some surprises in store for everyone.
Beckett's not the only one with news
From the synopsis, we all know that Beckett's got a lot on her mind in this episode, but she's not the only one. While she and Castle are trying to figure out where they stand, another character has something important to say as well. They do it a lot more subtly, but it's still a fantastic moment in the episode.
You have to watch the last two minutes
When you're talking about a season finale, it's usually a given that one should watch the last couple of minutes as that's usually when a show will pull out all the stops before giving you the big cliffhanger. So why mention it here? Because our copy of the episode didn't include the last moments, which means that they didn't even want a chance of it getting out. If that's not a sign that something huge happens in the last moments, we don't know what is.
What do you think now that you've read the synopsis and gotten some hints about the Castle season 5 finale? Any theories on what's going to happen?
Castle airs on Monday nights at 10pm on ABC.
