Tom Everett Scott to Appear in 'Cashmere Mafia'

Tom Everett Scott lands a role on Cashmere Mafia Tom Everett Scott has signed up for a role on ABC's upcoming dramedy, Cashmere Mafia.  The 36-year-old actor is set to play the fiancé and workplace rival of Lucy Liu's character.  He is taking over Timothy Adams (Rescue Me), who played the role in the original pilot.

Cashmere Mafia
is centered on four ambitious and sexy women in New York City who have been friends since their days at business school.  In an attempt to successfully balance their demanding careers with their personal lives, and to protect each other, the women decide to set up their very own “boys club.”

Aside from Scott and Liu, who will play Mia, the cast also includes Frances O' Connor (Bedazzled, Madam Bovary) as Zoe, Miranda Otto (The Starter Wife, War of the Worlds) as Juliet, Bonnie Summerville (Friends, NYPD Blue, The OC) as Caitlin, Julian Ovenden (Related, Charmed) as Eric and Peter Hermann (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, 30 Rock, Angela's Eyes, Standoff) as Davis.

Tom Everett Scott's character will be a “special guest star” on Cashmere Mafia's premiere episode.  According to ABC's website, the show will begin airing on Tuesday, December 4, at 9/8c, while a special preview will be shown on November 27.  Although there is no official word yet about Scott's future with show, there is a big possibility that he will appear in more episodes.

Scott is best known for his portrayal of Guy Patterson on That Thing You Do, though he had previously appeared in the television series Law & Order and Grace Under Fire, as well as a Schoolbreak Special on CBS.  His subsequent projects include Boiler Room, The Street, Philly, Do Over, Will & Grace, ER and Stacked.  Last year, he starred in TNT's Saved, playing a med-student-turned-paramedic named Wyatt Cole.  The series was taken off the air after only one season.

Cashmere Mafia is created by Kevin Wade. Executive producers include Gail Katz, Jeff Rake, Michael Pressman and Darren Star, the man behind the successful HBO series, Sex and the City.
