On Sunday's episode
of The Real Housewives of New Jersey
, among other drama, Caroline Manzo's daughter Lauren took offense to some of her brothers' teasing and threw a little bit of a fit and locked herself in the camper. Caroline addresses her daughter's attitude problem in her Bravo blog
"I want to address Lauren's behavior and my comments regarding it," she started off. "As I've been saying since the beginning of the season, Lauren was in a very bad place and not acting herself at all, you saw some of that on last night's episode. Understand one thing: I love my kids more than anything in this world, but when they overreact or behave badly, they will hear it from me."
Caroline, who called her daughter an "a**hole" after she wouldn't stand for her brothers' jibes anymore failed to mention that all of her kids are in their twenties, and not Giudice-aged kids who need constant reprimanding from their mother.
"Lauren overreacted when she heard about Lindsey moving in with Albie and over the boys' little nudges during the trip too," Caroline wrote."When my boys are guilty of the same, they are also addressed by either Al or myself--there's no favoritism in the Manzo house."
While Caroline ascertains that here are no favorites, both her children Lauren and Chris have complained repeatedly on the show about how Albie is the "golden boy" and definitely their parents' favorite.
"Al and I are lucky enough to have an extraordinary bond with our children. The kids fight like crazy, but hey love each other to death. Make no mistake, we tell our kids we love them every single day, but when they are behaving like an ass, we address it. My kids aren't perfect and need to be told to straighten up every now and again. It makes us a normal family; the Brady Bunch we are not."
Lauren also piped in on Twitter
trying to defend her little fit, clarifying that when her mother said she "not being in a good place" what she really meant to say was that Lauren was "not in a good place" because she was fat.
"That breakdown you just saw me have was the night I decided to get the lap-band off camera," Lauren tweeted
."My brothers, parents and Vito sat with me and showed me how much they care about me. I realized that night that I wasn't myself anymore and was in a really bad place. My relationship with my family and boyfriend is amazing. I have the best support system regardless of what it appears to be on TV. I was in a bad place one year ago, and I couldn't be happier today."
Well it seems (at least in the Manzo's case) skinny really is
the new happy. Gina PusateriContributing Writer(Image courtesy of Bravo)
