Cane opens darkly this week. We see flashes of Henry in the hospital, having been badly beaten. Interspersed with those scenes, Santo takes Alex to Little Havana against his better judgment. He uses his gang tattoos for entrance into a club and introduces Alex to a guy who may be a hitman of sorts.
Twenty-four hours earlier, the Duque's are hosting a big party celebrating the International Rum Awards, which they usually win. All of the big rum producers are there with their premium rums for tasting and judging.

I like the new character Terry very much. She and Pancho have a great chemistry.
Henry is in his club. In listening to him talk on the phone, we find out that will.i.am is the guest this week. He finds Tal and Yossi, two of his investors and Dmitri's boys, taking rum by the case out of the club. When he complains about them messing up his inventory and costing him money, they mock him and tell him to put the cost on their tab. They brush by him and one of their's pit bull is shown.
At the party, Frank and Alex make nice with competitors while Pancho and Amalia meet with the doctor. He tells them that the tumors are not shrinking, that he wants to take more aggressive action, chemo. Once Pancho finds out that the chemo affects taste, he refuses. After addressing the crowd at his party, he calls the boys up for a meeting.
He tells them that it's time to find a new master blender. Since the world's best master blenders are right there in their backyard, it's time to find his successor.
Pancho goes around at his party tasting the different rums on display and for the most part is underwhelmed.
Henry goes off on Dmitri. Since their business dealings, the alcohol sales have gone down. Dmitri says that his customers prefer ecstasy to alcohol. Henry tells him that he can't have the drug dealing in his club and Dmitri chides him for being ungrateful.
Pancho tastes a rum by a blond female named Terry Greenway and is blown away.
Henry is talking to will.i.am in the club and is distracted by a guy that looks like he's passed out. When Tal and Yossi drag him outside, Henry follows them out and attempts to call 911 for the kid. They severely beat him and Tal sics that pit bull on him.
Meanwhile, at the Duque's, everyone is sitting down to dinner. Pancho points Terry out to Alex and Frank and tells them that she's who he wants to succeed him. Alex gets a phone call and rushes out. He meets Henry's ambulance at the hospital. Henry asks Alex not to tell the family what happened.
Isabel overwhelms Jaime and Rebecca with her plans for their wedding. Rebecca is really upset and later tells Jaime that she wants to elope.
After finding out from Henry's friend what happened, Alex talks to Grasso about Dmitri and his boys. Grasso tells him that Dmitri is a big ecstasy distributor. When Alex asks why he's still in business, Grasso tells him that the local police were called off by the feds. Grasso warns Alex not to retaliate for Henry's beating.
Back at the club, Alex confronts Dmitri. He attempts to buy him out, but when rebuffed tells Dmitri to buy Henry out. Dmitri disrespectfully offers .02 on the dollar, smirks and walks off.
The Gold Label Winner is announced at the awards dinner. Duque Premium Blend and their Master Blender, Pancho Duque, wins the award for the 4th straight year. In a congratulatory hug with Frank, Pancho tells him that he didn't deserve it this year and to do what ever it takes to get Terry.
The next morning, Santo is driving Alex asking if he's sure this is what he wants to do. He's introduced to a Cuban in Little Havana and wants him to perform a service for him. They talk, Alex tells the Cuban what happened and that he wants justice for his brother, for his family. This guy is impressed by Alex's love for his family and agrees to give him justice.
The Samuel's PI, Bronson, has been following Alex and calls Ellis to tell her about Alex having a meeting of some sort in Little Havana. She's at a committee meeting with Isabel and makes snide little comments to her about Alex and business.
Alex sits at Henry's bedside and stews. Henry has some nasty dog bites all over his arms.
Rebecca and Jaime do elope, but he later tells her that they still have to go through with the Cuban wedding.
Frank tells Pancho that Terry won't sign a contract with Duque Rum. He thinks that only Pancho will be able to convince her to join them.
Isabel confronts Alex about his whereabouts. Keeping his word to Henry, he tells her that he had a business meeting in Miami. She asks him when he started having business meetings with a gun. She lets him have it, starting with the gun, listening to Grasso when he was there, everything. She asks him about the man at the 4th of July party and what happened to him. When she finds out about Quinones' death, she asks Alex to tell her that he had nothing to do with it. He assures her, and she finally says that she trusts him.
While this confrontation is going on, Yossi is attacked at his apartment by a man with a 2X4, Tal is swimming in his pool when a snake is put in it and attacks him, and Dmitri is bound, beaten and forced to take numerous ecstasy tablets at the club.
Terry comes to the Duque home to meet with Pancho. They really hit it off. He tells her that he wants her to be his successor. She so admires him and is flabbergasted.
Alex meets the Cuban in Henry's club and finds out that Dmitri and his boys have been taken care of. He tells the man that he's in his debt. While Alex sits and drinks with the Cuban, at home, Isabel starts having pains.
Alex goes to Henry's bedside and tells him that all of his problems are over. (Yes, I'm upset that will.i.am didn't sing)
Frank visits Ellis and they begin kissing.
Alex finally comes home to find that Isabel has lost the baby. She's in bed and Amalia is there with her. Amalia tells Alex that they've been trying to contact him, but couldn't reach him. She tells him that she worries about him now. When she leaves, Alex apologizes to Isabel for not being there for her. She expresses her doubts about him. He tells her that he's the same man, her husband and that he loves her.
Next week on
Cane, we're teased that the family starts doubting Alex. In different scenes, he's being questioned by them, about what he's done or who he's becoming.
