Cane - Perfect SonThis episode of Cane opens at the Duque homestead. Wedding preparations are underway and there is organized chaos.

Jaime is talking to his parents and he asks them if Rebecca can live with them when he ships out for boot camp. They agree and somehow giggle and admit to him that they eloped before they had their big Cuban wedding.

Joe Samuels berates Bronson, the P.I., for failing to adequately tail Alex. He blames him for Alex getting to Canada and finding out about his activities. He fires him and refuses to pay him what he's owed.

Ellis was a silent observer to this, but once Bronson leaves, Joe turns his ire on her. He's mad that she's going to his enemy's son's wedding. He taunts her that Frank will never marry her, just like Alex didn't marry her before. He tells her that they know she's nothing but 'swamp trash' just like her daddy.

Bronson sees Alex in town and tells him that Samuels is planning something for tonight. He tells him that he's not sure what, but then sells him some information on what he does know.

Ramon brings a wedding gift to the house. While he's there, Alex asks him to provide security for the wedding.

Rebecca is really upset. She wants to see Jaime, but Isabel tells her that it's bad luck for him to see her before the wedding.

Joe Samuels is on the phone with someone. He's discussing the 'surprise wedding gift' for Senor Vega.

Pancho catches sight of some of Ramon's men and is upset. He questions Alex in front of Amalia and Isabel. Alex tells Pancho what he's found out about Samuels plan. Amalia asks what's really going on between them and the Samuels and Alex tells her to ask Pancho.

Ellis and Frank exchange father horror stories. She tells him that they need to get away. She tries to get him to agree to make their own way. A little while later, Alex confronts her and asks her what her father's plan is. When she denies all knowledge, he tells her that even though she has Frank wrapped around her finger, if anything happens to the family tonight, Frank won't forgive that.

Samuels has hired people to pour gasoline through the Duque cane fields and to torch them.

Rebecca catches Jaime before the wedding and confesses to him that she cheated on him after her bachelorette party. He walks out and we see him driving his Chevy truck through the smoking sugar fields.

Artie comes to his parents and reports that he can't find Jaime. Rebecca comes out and tells them that she and Jaime had a fight and that he left. Alex becomes aware of the cane burning and the family mobilizes. He finds out that Jaime was last seen driving towards the fields.

Jaime finally becomes aware of his surroundings. He sees flames all around his truck and he gets out and runs into the fields.

Alex runs into the burning cane to find his son. He finds the empty truck and panics. He finally finds Jaime and they get back into the truck. Alex gets behind the wheel and drives the truck straight through the flames to safety.

Once the fire is finally put out and the paramedics have seen to both Jaime and Alex, Vince, the police friend, tries to convince Alex to let him handle this. He wants Alex to let him find out and prove who did this and mete out the punishment. Alex doesn't exactly agree, but doesn't out and out disagree.

Rebecca runs out to the fields to make sure that Jaime is okay. They make up and confess to Pancho and Alex that they eloped. They then tell them that if the priest is still there, they want him to marry them again. So he does. They say their vows with Jaime is his sooty white shirt and Rebecca in her t-shirt and jeans ... and her veil.

After the wedding, the family gathers to talk about what happened. Pancho blames it all on Alex for escalating the conflict with the Samuels into a war. Alex doesn't take it quietly this time and hits back at Pancho. He tells Pancho that Pancho knew this war was coming and that he picked him, Alex, to be CEO to protect Frank, to keep his hands clean. Just like 14 years ago, he took Alex to go get Lucia, to protect Frank.

He lets the whole story out about Samuels hiring the guys that killed Lucia. He told how he, Alex, killed one of the men back then and how the other man, Quinones came back and threatened his kids. He tells the family that there will be no more secrets and no more lies. He then admits that he had Quinones killed.

Amalia is mad that Pancho has kept this from her and she walks out. Henry, apparently, didn't know either. He picks up the picture of Lucia and then pours himself and Pancho a drink.

Alex goes to Amalia and apologizes. She tells Alex that she doesn't want vengeance, she wants justice. She tells him to finish it.

Alex puts on is suit jacket to leave. Both Santo and Ramon try to get him to let them take care of it, but he refuses. Frank goes up to him and tells him that he doesn't have to do it alone.

This episode of Cane ends with Alex going to confront Joe Samuels. Joe taunts him and basically dares him to shoot him. Shots are fired. Joe is hit multiple times, but the shots don't come from Alex's gun.

To Be Continued ... next time on Cane. Alex is being framed for Joe Samuels murder and even his family thinks that he did it.
