Recent reports revealed that David Duchovny, popularly known for his stint on The X-Files and more recently, Showtime’s Californication, has entered The Meadows rehabilitation facility for sex addiction located in Arizona.  His representative, lawyer Stanton Stein, quoted the actor saying, “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

More recently, word spread that the 48-year-old actor had in fact cheated on his wife of 11 years.  A source told the National Enquirer that Duchovny cheated on Tea Leoni and only admitted to his affairs when she became suspicious.  The source added, “(David) said Téa gave him an ultimatum: Get treatment or our marriage is over.  She felt it was ruining their marriage and affecting their kids.”

David Duchovny entered The Meadows late last month for a 35-day treatment program.  Following the reports about his infidelity, Tea Leoni has decided to stay out of the public eye for a few days, as she has cancelled her appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival.  Her representative says that she won’t be attending the event, in which she was supposed to promote her upcoming comedy film, Ghost Town.  While there isn’t any explanation on why Leoni refused to attend the festival, many have speculated that she wants to ditch the prying media, who might take advantage of the moment and ask her for more details about the dilemma her family has been facing.  Nonetheless, fans are fully supporting the actor in this crucial time.

Meanwhile, Californication is due to return to television screens on September 28 at 10pm on Showtime.  The series stars David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a famed novelist who has a fixation on alcohol, drugs and women.  As Hank tries to deal with writer’s block, he asks the help of his agent and best friend in raising his teenaged daughter, Becca (Madeleine Martin), while pursuing his ex-girlfriend and Becca’s mother, Karen (Natascha McElhone).  Catch the show as it returns to follow Hank’s crazy journey in the streets of L.A.
