
USA Network has officially ordered a new cop drama entitled
Burn Notice, which is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, June 28 at 10/9c.
Burn Notice follows a spy who gets a “burn notice,” an official statement released by an intelligence agency to other agencies that he is unreliable. Determined to find out what caused his dismissal, he returns to his hometown only to discover that he is unable to utilize his contacts and resources. Now, he must use his special training to stay under the spy network radar and must find a way to fund his ongoing personal investigation.

Leading the series is actor
Jeffery Donovan who plays Michael Westen, the spy who gets fired after 10 years of serving his country. Donovan’s acting credits include
Come Early Morning, Hitch, Touching Evil, and
Spin City among others.
Playing Michael Westen’s former girlfriend Fiona Glenanne is actress
Gabrielle Anwar. Anwar is best known for her role as Donna in
Scent of a Woman, Marti Malone in
Body Snatchers and on
The Tudors as the character Margaret.
Bruce Campbell joins the cast as Sam Axe, a former Navy Seal and Military Intel Operative who Michael reconnects with. Campbell is known for his starring role as Ash Williams in the horror trilogy
Evil Dead.

Burn Notice features
Sharon Gless as Madeline Westen, Michael’s obsessive mother. This 64-year old actress has been primarily exposed to soap operas. She is best known for her portrayal of Christine Cagney on the police-drama series
Cagney & Lacey, in which she earned two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. Her other acting credits include
Switch,
Queer as Folk, and
The State Within.
