Sharon Gless was born Sharon Marguerite Gless on May 31, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her role as Chris Cagney on the show, Cagney and Lacey. She appeared alongside Tyne Daly in the cop drama from 1982-1988 and won both Golden Globe and Emmy awards for her role.

Madeline Westen, played by Sharon Gless on Burn Notice, is former covert spy, Michael Westen’s hypochondriac and obsessive mother. Widowed and in the empty nest phase of her life, she has made it her new mission to keep an eye on her grown son and finds every reason and excuse she can to keep in touch with him. Between card games with her neighbors, Madeline sends Michael clients in dire need of his highly specialized services.
