The fifth season of USA's
Burn Notice has put Michael and his
team into yet another sticky situation. The big bad, Anson (the
wonderfully sinister Jere Burns) is plotting to restart the organization
that burned Michael and he's threatening to send Fiona to prison
forever after he framed her for a deadly explosion.
The finale pushes that story to its inevitable conclusion as Michael must decide how far he's willing to go. It's a lot like that song by Meat Loaf, because Michael will do anything for love, but there is a line. The challenge for Michael is seeing how far he's willing to go to protect the woman he loves.
Burn Notice achieves this with a new case of the week as Michael is given his own CIA team to run a special operation. It's a good team that includes a Terminator (Kristanna Loken) and Superman (Dean Cain). Meanwhile, Sam and Fi try to stop Anson's plans on their own.
Like all
Burn Notice finales, this episode successfully wraps up a storyline while raising a few new questions and mysteries. Based on the surprising outcome of Michael's latest challenges, it's obvious that season 6 will be quite different.
Michael, Fiona and Sam all make important choices about how far they're willing to go to stop Anson, and the ending is sure to leave fans wondering what could possibly happen next.
That question, unfortunately, will have to wait until the summer.
