Michelle Trachtenberg blossomed as the teenage sister of Buffy Summers on the series
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For three consecutive years since 2001, she earned several Saturn Award nominations for portraying Dawn Summers. Although she was introduced on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer in season five, she eventually became one of the central characters of the show. While she appeared to be human in appearance and function, she was actually a dangerous magical artifact known as the Key.
Michelle Trachtenberg worked on a string of movies after her stint on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She starred in the teen flick
EuroTrip, was cast in the drama
Mysterious Skin, and landed the lead role in the comedy-drama
Ice Princess as Casey Carlyle.
On the critically acclaimed HBO drama
Six Feet Under, Michelle Trachtenberg appeared as the character Celeste on four episodes of the series. Subsequently, she provided the voice of Lindsay Lohan on two episodes of
Robot Chicken.
After her inclusion in
Kickin It Old Skool, the former
Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress will be providing the voice of Tanthalas “Tanis” Half-Elven in the fantasy adventure movie
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight. It follows a group of adventurers, including a dwarf, half-elf, warrior, mage, knight and kinder, thrust to war as an army of dragons attack their homeland. Slated for release in September, the film also features the voice of
Michael Rosenbaum (
Smallville) and
Kiefer Sutherland (
24).
At present, Trachtenberg is filming the upcoming TV pilot
The Hill. She stars as Maggie Rogers in a plot about a Senator’s aide and his unexpected attraction to the daughter of his boss’ rival. Also included on the series are Eric Christian Olsen as Matt O'Brien, Wendie Malick as Senator Lowel, and Mark Moses as Senator Rogers.
Lastly, she’ll be starring in
The Possibility of Fireflies. Slated for 2008, the drama is about a single mother who struggles to raise her two daughters on her own after her husband abandons her. She will be playing Gwen Roman, one of daughters, along with Kirsten Prout as Ellie Roma, and Kristen Huff as Carrie Mayes.
