Earlier this month, a controversy involving the 33-year-old
Balthazar Getty and 26-year-old Sienna Miller sparked after paparazzi took photos of the two while in a vacation in Italy. While it all seemed like an innocent rendezvous, photos showed the married Getty and the topless Miller in more than just a friendly get-together. In fact, one photo showed the two kissing, while another showed Miller and Getty on the beach in a more than comfortable embrace.
While the media was quick to label Getty as guilty of infidelity towards his wife of eight years, Rosetta Gillington, Getty claims that he has been physically separated from Rosetta for a long time now and just began dating Miller in May this year.
Last week, the
Brothers and Sisters star released a public statement addressing these issues, in which he said, “In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further.”
Getty also admits that “The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience especially when children are involved,” referring to his four children with Rosetta, whom he married in 2000.
As for Sienna Miller, she believes that her private life is none of the public’s business. In fact, in an interview with the Times last month, she says that her personal life is “no one’s business anymore.”
When asked to clarify her relationship status, the actress replied, “I’m sorry, but I can’t... I have this habit, I’m such a people pleaser, and out of insecurity I think that all people care about is my private life... I feel like I’ve indulged that need for approval for too long. It’s too hurtful. I have to learn to censor myself.”
Hopefully, Miller will learn a lesson and be sure to keep her private life—and body parts—just that, private.
