Calista Flockhart, who plays Kitty on the ABC drama Brothers and Sisters, and husband Harrison Ford are in the process of adopting a little girl, according to US reports.  The move is expected to extend the couple's already big family. Flockhart, 44, has one adopted son, eight-year-old Liam, and Ford, 66, has four other children from two previous marriages.  He also plans to make Liam his own child.

The two have been together for seven years, and Ford proposed to the former Ally McBeal actress on Valentine's Day.

"Harrison's begun the process of adopting Liam too. He's been a father figure to the boy almost since day one," says a source to Star Magazine.

As far her current engagement is concerned, the last episode of Brothers and Sisters edged the CBS action-drama The Unit with 9.4 million viewers over The Unit's 8.9 million.  Elsewhere that night, Brothers and Sisters' lead-in Desperate Housewives also dominated its timeslot, with 13.5 million viewers, at least 3 million over its nearest competitor, Cold Case, also from CBS. NBC's Celebrity Apprentice (8.3 mil) and Fox's Family Guy (6.8 mil) competed the night's lineup.

On that night's episode of the drama, Kitty and Robert (Rob Lowe) reached a crossroad in their relationship, as she was forced to reflect on her father's past indiscretions. Meanwhile, Ryan (Luke Grimes) discovered something about his mother's death as the boy took a huge leap of faith, albeit in the wrong direction, just to vie for Rebecca's (Emily VanCamp) affection.

On the upcoming season finale, meanwhile, the Walker family reaches out to Tommy (Balthazar Getty), who's not really keen on accepting their help. Robert and Kitty continue to deal with problems in their marriage, while Justin (Dave Annable) is ready to make plans for the future with or without Rebecca.
