Applause Rampant for 'Brothers & Sisters' Golden Globe Nominees, Plus What's New Next Year

One of the most celebrated year-ender traditions in the entertainment world is the buzz about the Golden Globes. Several shows have gotten their fair share of nominations, while a number of notable people in the industry have been chosen for accolades in their work. On
Brothers and Sisters, there have been two commendable actresses who have been selected by the good people from the Golden Globe Awards.
Actress
Sally Field was able to snag a nomination for the category of Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama. As she plays struggling matriarch of the Walker family, do you think she deserves the accolade?
Being a stay-at-home mom on TV is one thing, but handling the chaos the Walkers gets into is actually pretty remarkable. As Nora Walker, Field has given the show some of its memorable moments. If you need any more proof, Field has already won an Emmy Award for the role in 2007.
Meanwhile,
Rachel Griffiths was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series. This is due to her portrayal of the character Sarah Walker, the firstborn Walker child. Her role as a businesswoman trying her best to balance her personal life is something a lot of people can relate to, and the intensity of which she plays the character is noteworthy.
No matter how the Golden Globes turn out, fans will continue to root for their favorite actors and actresses anyway. We'll get to see if Sally Field and Rachel Griffiths bring home their awards on January 11.
Even though
Brothers & Sisters won't be returning tonight for a new episode, there are already several installments lined up for 2009. Next year begins with “A Father Dreams” which continues the story focusing on the baby Elizabeth's illness. A confrontation between Tommy (
Balthazar Getty) and Kevin (
Matthew Rhys) occurs, threatening their relationship as brothers.
Following that episode is “Sibling Rivalry,” which airs on the same day as the Golden Globes. Kitty (
Calista Flockhart) decides to go public with her book by appearing on
Live with Regis & Kelly, but Robert's (
Rob Lowe) actions make her suspect something's wrong.
There's certainly more to come next year for
Brothers & Sisters, and be sure not to miss the Walkers as they return on Sundays, 10pm on ABC.
