Born in Bay City, Michigan, actress Betsy Brandt received her BFA in acting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also trained at the Moscow Art School and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She has extensive experience in theater, having appeared in regional productions of plays such as Ridiculous Fraud, Much Ado About Nothing, Truth and Beauty and Control Alt Delete.
Brandt’s acting on screen began in 1998, with a role in the short film Confidence. Her other films include The Red Boot Diaries, Memphis Bound… and Gagged, Shelf Life and All Features Great and Small. She also appeared as a guest in numerous television shows, the first being an episode of Judging Amy in 2001. She has also guest starred in Without a Trace, ER, The Practice, CSI, Side Order of Life and Boston Legal. In 2008, she snagged her first regular television role through the drama series Breaking Bad. She played Marie Schrader, sister to Skyler (Anna Gunn), wife to Hank (Dean Norris) and sister-in-law to the lead Walter (Bryan Cranston).
