We can finally mark our calendars - Breaking Bad is officially returning on July 15.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Unfortunately, there's a bit of bad news, too. AMC announced the brilliant and dark meth lab drama will start its fifth and final season, but only for eight episodes. The second half of its concluding season will return in summer 2013, finishing off the series with another eight episodes. Basically, the normal 16 episode season will be split in half and broken up over a year. This means less Breaking Bad in a longer period, but perhaps that will make each episode even more appreciated and special, knowing these will mark the last days of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Some other Breaking Bad tidbits:

  • Season 5 filming is already under way and according to a brief sneak peek with the show's leads, it's going to be the craziest, wildest season yet.
  • Jesse Plemons (who played Landry Clarke on Friday Night Lights) has been cast in the upcoming season as Todd, a "dependable, innocuous, working-class guy," according to TVLine.
  • Keep your eye out for the season 4 DVD release on June 5 (perhaps rewatch the entire season in preparation for season 5 - with a little over a month, this should be no problem for fans).
