Denny Crane and Alan Shore have always been close friends despite their great political differences, conflicting ideologies and questionable courtroom strategies. Throughout
Boston Legal, the two almost always share a scene enjoying a cigar and a glass of Scotch on the balcony of the law firm, talking over the events that had happened at the end of the episode. On the next episode, however, that just might not be the case.
It's Denny versus Alan on the season ender of
Boston Legal tonight at 10/9c on ABC.
The fourth season finale, which is fittingly called "Patriot Acts," marks Alan and Denny's acceptance into the Auxiliary Coast Guard, the uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard that directly supports the Coast Guard in all missions, except military and law enforcement actions. The two friends celebrate their much-awaited acceptance but their merriment ends when they are presented with a case that puts the ultimate test to their friendship.
The town of Concord, Massachusetts wants to become independent from the United States and Alan decides to take the case, leaving Denny deeply offended. The case gets even more personal when Denny appears in court representing the opposing side.
