It was an action-packed and explosive (literally) series finale for Bones. While most fans are pleased with how things turned out, there have been some dissenting opinions. Most of them revolve around the fact that Brennan regained all her mental capabilities in the series finale. In an interview with TVLine Emily Deschanel weighed on this development, how it felt to see the Jeffersonian lab get destroyed and more.

The 13 Most Emotional Moments from the Bones Series Finale>>>

Deschanel agrees with some fans that Brennan getting her all intelligence back might be too happy an ending. "Sometimes I don't want the endings to be too happy," she explained. She went on to say that she is glad Bones didn't find some miracle cure where Hodgins could walk again, but Brennan getting back her old level of intelligence felt right.

"Ultimately, she came to a place where she was OK with who she is with or without her intellect," Emily said. Even if Brennan hadn't got all her intellect back, Deschanel is sure she would have been able to cope. "She would probably conduct some kind of market analysis to find out what job she would be best suited for with her brain function," Deschanel joked.

Even with Brennan getting restored to her old self, the Bones series finale was far from a happily ever after as the lab came to an explosive end. The process of watching the lab explode hit the cast pretty hard, according to Emily. "It affected us more than you would think. It was emotional. It was a gut punch and a sobering reality check because it acknowledged that this thing was ending. It was also disturbing," she explained.

Watching the lab get decimated was hard but it wasn't the hardest scene that Emily had to film for the series finale. It was actually her last scene with the interns. "Not only was I going around to each one and reminiscing with them (as Brennan), but it was my last scene with all of these actors who I've worked with over the [12] years," she said. "I did not want to be super emotional for that scene, but it was so hard not to just bawl."

What was your hardest scene to watch as a viewer? How do you feel about Brennan getting back her intelligence? Was it too happy an ending? Do you think it was the right move? Would you have been happy if Brennan had to build a whole new life for herself?
