We still have a very, very long wait before season 7 of Bones begins. Fortunately we have spoilers to hold us over until that distant date! If you want to know what will be happening with the Booth/Brennan relationship, the squinterns, the bad guys and a certain baby, keep reading.

TVGuide.com interviewed Bones executive producer Stephen Nathan and got a lot of scoop on the upcoming season. We picked out a few of the highlights to share with you.

Booth and Brennan will be a couple.
Stephen Nathan: "They are a couple who have come together to have and raise this baby."

Although it's not expressly stated in the interview, fans can hope that the two don't see their relationship as nothing more than parenting. That's not fun -- not for the couple and not for the viewers. But that scenario seems unlikely. Both Brennan and Booth have admitted being in love with each other over the past couple of seasons, so the baby should just work as a catalyst.

Besides, as Nathan pointed out later in the interview: "They've always loved each other."

Brennan will be very pregnant upon Bones' return.
Emily Deschanel, who is herself pregnant, will not have to stand behind large objects or only be seen in close-up shots. Instead, the show will just follow the pregnancy to the conclusion.

So look out for baby bumps ahead!

Granted, this does not mean that the baby will come at the end of the first six episodes (those that will be aired before the show's mid-season hiatus). The baby might be born then, but no one from Bones is saying.

New things are coming for season 7.
Contrary to what most spoilers would make you think, there will be more than just relationships and babies in season 7 of Bones.

  • One of the first murder cases involves an amnesia victim. The amnesia will bring up memory themes and how a person's past affects his or her present.
  • Also in the first few episodes, we will see the return of family. Brennan's father, Max (Ryan O'Neal) will not surprisingly be back (do you think they'll let grandpa babysit?). In addition to this, some aspect of Booth's family will make an appearance.
  • Those mourning the loss of Vincent Nigel-Murray will at least have a new squintern to distract from their sadness: a new assistant will appear in the second or third episode of the season.
  • A new, possibly long-arc villain will be introduced in episode 6. This will be a baddie of Gormogon proportions, with the new and evil twist of being tech-savvy.
