WARNING: This article contains Bones season 8 spoilers. Obviously.
What bad guys can we expect in Bones
Well, there's Christopher Pelant, of course. They can't get rid of such a creepy, evil man very quickly -- not even the Jeffersonian can pull that off. As Bones
executive producer Stephen Nathan told reporters "We love this guy. He's the most interesting multiple-murderer that we've ever had on the show. He's going to color season 8 a bit. No one's going to be able to rest easy."
But don't worry -- this doesn't mean Brennan will stay on the run all season. She will be back in Booth's arms before the first episode is over!
Pelant isn't the only challenge that Booth, Brennan and the Jeffersonian will face. According to TVGuide.com
, Brennan will also have to match wits with the head of a crime-scene cleaning company. Yes, those exist. The man in question is accused of killing his business rival but thinks he can't be caught because he's so good at his job.
Fortunately, Brennan is better.Good Guys
Obviously, we can't just have evil people on Bones
in season 8. Which nice people will be there?Squinterns
: The old squinterns are expected to reappear, and some new faces might show up as well.Romance
: Cam will get a new love interest in season 5. Stephen Nathan explained who it might be: "It's someone fans will recognize. If we're good, they didn't see it coming." Start theorizing now!Family
: We will be seeing both Hodgins' brother (He has a brother? Is this retcon?) and Booth's mother this season.Victims
: For Bones
' 150th episode, things will switch around a bit. According to Bones
creator and executive producer Hart Hanson: "It's going to be an episode where we see everything from the POV of the victim. It's been very tricky. We needed a very heart-tugging story, so the person whose death we are solving is an actual character. It's a boy. It's not a funny episode."Happy Returns and Sad Absences
First, the happy Bones
news: Stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel are currently in negotiations to extend their contracts through season 9. "We're pretty confident they will come to some agreement," Stephen Nathan assured reporters.
But one face familiar to Bones
and The Finder
fans will not be back. The death of Finder
co-star Michael Clarke Duncan ended a plan to bring the characters of Walter and Leo back to Bones
for a final farewell. Hart Hanson told Deadline.com
that "We were thinking of having MCD and Geoff [Stults] do one more crossover episode on Bones
so that we could tell the Bones
fans what happened after The Finder
didn't come back."Bones
season 8 will begin on Monday, September 17 at 8pm on FOX.(Images courtesy of FOX)
