It's hard to classify any of today's Bones news as spoilers, per se, but the news is still pretty exciting and tantalizing. We got our first spin-off casting information and some hints as to who will be involved in the upcoming Hodgins/Angela baby. Also, there will be a very yucky murder -- not that this is unexpected from Bones.

Michael Clarke Duncan Cast in the Bones Spin-Off
OK, so I guess this means that the spin-off is officially going forward? With the casting of Michael Clarke Duncan -- an Oscar nominee for The Green Mile -- it definitely looks like Fox is serious about making the Bones spin-off into a reality.

As was reported in TVLine, Duncan will be playing the partner of "Locator" Walter Sherman. The role is described as a "cowboy philosopher" with a tough nature. The casting of Walter Sherman himself remains unannounced.

Hopefully this early casting means that Duncan will be around for the Locator introduction episode, now scheduled for episode 19 of the current Bones season.

Who Is Around to Make Baby Predictions?
Basically, everyone. According to TVLine, everybody even remotely connected to Angela and Hodgins on Bones seems to be prepped to give their opinion when it comes to the sex of the upcoming child.

Angela's dad (the awesomely never-explained Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top) shows up to offer his opinion on his grandchild's sex. Angela's favorite psychic, Avalon Harmonia, predicts whether it will be a girl or a boy. And even the "Locator" character from the spin-off has a chance to weigh in on the issue.

Who will be right? And why is everyone guessing anyway? In a giant lab filled with medical equipment, it's not like an ultrasound would be impossible.

The "Most Gruesome Murders Ever"
TVLine also quotes Bones executive producer, Stephen Nathan, as saying that a case involving a "body farm" gives us the show's "most gruesome murders ever."

Since this is probably the previously rumored episode in which feet wash up on the US-Canada border, that seems a fair assessment.

But what the heck is a "body farm?" Do we actually want to know the answer to that question? Shudder...

What do you think of this news? Are you looking forward to Michael Clarke Duncan on the spin-off? What's your guess as to the Angela/Hodgins baby's sex? And does the concept of a body farm make you want to run away screaming? Tell us your opinion in the comments below!
