As if the network itself isn't already an obstruction to Booth and Brennan's romance, Bones is adding yet another brick to the wall. According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Rena Sofer has been cast as a potentially recurring love interest for Booth.

Sofer will be playing Dr. Catherine Klein, "a marine biologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who has been called into the Jeffersonian after finding human remains inside a dead tiger shark." Apparently, Booth and Dr. Klein will eventually hit it off, and though they both try to keep things professional, it seems like a date is in the cards for Booth and Klein, who could become a recurring character. Sorry, Booth and Brennan fans!

As of this moment, there is no word yet on when Sofer will make her Bones debut. Meanwhile, fans can catch her as Attorney Margaret Allison Hart, a recurring character on NCIS and a possible romantic foil for Mark Harmon's Gibbs.

In recent years, Sofer has appeared as Heidi Petrelli, wife of aspiring politician Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) on Heroes. She has also guest starred on Dirty Sexy Money playing an intrepid reporter, and Ghost Whisperer as a ghost.
