Coming off the Comic Con and the TCA, fans were given enough food for thought about the fourth and upcoming season of
Bones, which promises a lot more steam between the two central characters, Dr. Temperance Bones (
Emily Dechanel) and Special Agent Seeley Booth (
David Boreanaz). Recently, the production flew to England to shoot what is to become the debut episode of Season 4. In our
Live from Comic Con report, we already revealed that Booth and Bones will be getting naked together, but what does this say about their relationship? Boreanaz admits that they’re as close as humanly possible, and that Booth has some personal opinions about his character.
"She says I'm not an adaptable character," Boreanaz admitted to the Canadian Press. He added that Booth will have to deal with becoming "become part of the system here in England - the traditions and what not - though as the show progresses, he slowly starts to understand them and embraces them."
Moreover, Boreanaz says that the dynamism of this new season lies in the fact that their characters are placed in a totally different environment, which will cause them to depend on each other and eventually discover sides to them that they didn’t know before.
"I think going into season 4, this should be the mark of what our show is," Boreanaz explained. "You put these two characters in a misplaced environment. That's where they operate best. That's what brings out the best in their relationship."
So how exactly will these two lovebirds deal with expressing their feelings? Viewers could still remember the last time Booth and Bones had intimate contact was in last season’s Christmas episode, where they kissed under the mistletoe.
"That's when our show is the best, when people have to reveal their feelings in some way. But we never get sentimental," Emily Deschanel explained.
Fans cannot wait to see what will become of creator Hart Hanson’s promise of getting Booth and Bones in one bed. Nonetheless, viewers will get to see the freshman episode of
Bones' season 4 as it hits TV screens on September 3 at 8pm.
