Having tackled current reality television in last week's "The Maggots in the Meathead," Bones is now ready to gain inspiration from 1990s children's science programming.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
In the fourth episode of season 6, "The Body in the Bounty," Brennan and the team at the Jeffersonian gain some unexpected (and possibly somewhat undesired) help from a TV science personality named Professor Bunsen Jude the Science Dude (played by David Alan Grier). Yes, this scientist is a take-off of Bill Nye the Science Guy, only "a little wackier and scarier." Also, there is no way that the Science Dude is as cool as Bill Nye.
But he still seems pretty cool. The premise of the episode has Bunsen Jude (he does win points if that's his real name) looking to cast Dr. Brennan as a guest on his kids' science program. Brennan is less than interested, despite the encouragement of roughly everyone. In order to get her participation, Bunsen Jude offers to help solve a case. No clue why this would be a draw, but it does seem enough to get everyone interested. Hodgins especially seems to be a fan, although perhaps he just wants someone with whom to play science explosion games.
Can't wait until Thursday night before you catch a glimpse of Professor Bunsen Jude the Science Dude? Then you are in luck, since a preview video is now available. Check out Bunsen Jude's antics, the Jeffersonian's reactions and a little bit of cast commentary from Tamara Taylor and Michaela Conlin.
