David Boreanaz and his wife, Jaime Bergman, became proud parents to baby girl Bardot Vita Boreanaz, who tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, on Monday, September 1, according to
People. This marks the
Bones star's second child after son Jaden Rayne, who is now 7-years old.
This pregnancy had been particularly difficult not only for Bergman, who had been on bed-rest for quite some time, but also for Boreanaz, who plays Special Agent Seeley Booth on the police procedural series
Bones. Evidently, the actor felt anxious when he was too far from her, even dropping out of a scheduled appearance at July's Comic-Con in San Diego so he could be close at hand.
"I must maintain a 20-mile radius. I cannot travel beyond that," the former
Angel star, 40, told
People recently. "If I do, I'll freak out - I have to be there when the baby comes."
Now that there's a new angel in their lives, Boreanaz and Bergman can breathe easy.
"We've been trying to have another baby for a couple of years now so we are beyond excited," Bergman, 33, told
People. "We're over the moon."
Boreanaz hinted on the pregnancy news during a March
Live with Regis and Kelly appearance while he shared a story about how he introduced "the birds and the bees" with his son.
Meanwhile, Boreanaz has another big due date to look forward to in less than three weeks. The fifth season of
Bones is set to premiere on September 17 at 8/7c on FOX.
