Blood Ties is a TV drama series with action, adventure and horror elements that originally premiered March 2007 on Lifetime Television. It stars Christina Cox as Vicki Nelson, a former police officer who left the force after she began suffering eyesight problems, and became a private investigator instead. She soon becomes entangled with a mysteriously attractive man named Henry Fitzroy, a comic book artist and graphic novel writer who turns out to be a 450-year-old vampire, played by Kyle Schmid. He received his name as the illegitimate son of the long-ago King of England, Henry the VIII. Together, the two of them confront supernatural threats and dangers that begin stalking the night.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Also appearing in Blood Ties is Detective Mike Celluci, Vicki's former lover and ex-partner on the police force, played by Dylan Neal. Quite a bit of tension arises between him and Henry, especially when he finds out about the artist's undead nature. Vicki is caught in a love triangle with the two men, though she often needs both of their help to solve the gruesome cases and occult mysteries they contend with. Helping them out is young Coreen Fennel (Gina Holden), Vicki's assistant who has extensive knowledge of the occult, as well as a slightly obsessive crush on Henry. She even hopes that Henry will eventually turn her into a vampire as well, though he has no intention of doing so.

Blood Ties focuses on the four of them battling paranormal threats, even as Henry himself struggles constantly with his own bloodthirsty nature. Among the dangers they've faced are demonic opponents, ravenous zombies, a girl with uncontrollable telekinetic powers, vengeful spirits and witches, and even the mythical Gorgon Medusa of Greek lore. More of Henry's past is also gradually revealed throughout the series, such as when they meet up again with the vampire who turned him centuries ago.
