'The Voice' Predictions: Who's Going Home from the Top 5?

I have a bad feeling. The Voice is cutting two more singers tonight at 8pm on NBC leading into the finale, and if iTunes is any indication, we could have a big shock on our hands.

Five of the songs from the Top 5 were in the Top 10 on iTunes, meaning their iTunes votes are multiplied by 10. Those songs include all four from Blake Shelton's two contestants, Danielle Bradbery and The Swon Brothers, plus Amber Carrington's "Sad."

In other words, Sasha Allen and Michelle Chamuel are the odd women out. Here's a quick breakdown of the songs that made the Top 75 on iTunes as of 10am ET:

The Swon Brothers: 3 and 8
Danielle Bradbery: 4 and 7
Amber Carrington: 9 ("Sad")
Michelle Chamuel: 12 and 24
Sasha Allen: 49 ("I Will Always Love You")

Amber's awful "Firework" and Sasha's disco dud "Bad Girls" didn't make the list. With that in mind, here are my predictions.

Who's Safe?

Regrettably, I have to say that Danielle Bradbery and The Swon Brothers will both be safe and, for the second season in a row, Team Blake will have two out of the three finalists. I say regrettably because I find them to be perfectly ordinary. They're completely safe, singing the same kinds of songs every single week and never daring to take a risk or think outside the box. It sends a bad message to future contestants (and the other coaches) when doing the exact same thing every week proves to be the winning strategy.

Who's in Danger?

Sasha Allen is going home. That seems like a no-brainer. Her best selling song was far below everyone else and her performances didn't do much for her cause.

The real race is between Amber and Michelle. Both of Michelle's songs were in the Top 25 on iTunes and she's proven herself to be a massive fan favorite with a lot of support. On the other hand, Amber made the Top 10 on iTunes and got her votes multiplied by 10. Does that blow Michelle out of the water, even though Amber's other song was a disaster?

My Prediction

I'm predicting that Sasha Allen and Amber Carrington will be eliminated. To be honest, I'm not sure I actually believe that. I'm not sure Michelle will survive. But I want it. I NEED it. The Voice needs it. The Voice needs Michelle Chamuel in the finale because, if not, then we basically have three country artists in the finale, and that's bad for business.

If Michelle is eliminated, then why should any future contestant even bother being creative or different or unique? Just sing country songs. All the time. From the Blind Audition to the finale, if you sing songs by Lady Antebellum, Vince Gill, Hunter Hayes, Taylor Swift, etc., you will win.

What do you think? Can Michelle beat the iTunes system and make the finale? Or are we destined for an all-country ending? Find out on The Voice semifinal results show tonight at 8pm, which will also feature performances by Fallout Boy and returning Voice alum Terry McDermott, Nicholas David and Tony Lucca.
