From the executive producers of House comes yet another medical drama that focuses on the brain and how a world-famous neurologist will try to deal with its mysteries through challenging patients and bizarre cases.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Black Box, the name of the new ABC series which also refers to the human brain, stars Kelly Reilley (Sherlock Holmes) as  Dr. Catherine Black. The renowned doctor not only has a reputation that precedes her, she is also deemed the Marco Polo of the Brain thanks to her brilliant mind and expertise.  As the medical director of a state-of-the-art neurological center known as The Cube, she diagnoses and treats patients from different parts of the world.

Much like her patients, however, Catherine is very complicated. Unknown to her friends and family, she is bipolar and she has a lot of skeletons in her closet. It's a good thing she has Dr. Helen, her psychiatrist and the only one who knows about her secrets. Unfortunately having a mentor and mother figure in Dr. Helen isn't enough to keep a free spirit like Catherine out of trouble, especially when she decides to get off her medication.

To make matters more complicated, Catherine has a very colorful love life. She's in a love triangle with a sexy chef named Will and her womanizing co-worker  Dr. Ian. The men in her life appear to be complete opposites as Will wants nothing more than commitment while Dr. Ian couldn't care less about settling down-- that is until he meets Catherine.

Based on the premise, Black Box seems as complicated and messy as Catherine's personal life. Watch the trailer and judge for yourself:

The series also features Ditch Davey (Spartacus: War of the Damned), David Ajala, Ali Wong (Are You There, Chelsea?), Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad), David Chisum (One Life to Live), Siobhan Williams, Terry Kinney (Oz) and Vanessa Redgrave.

Black Box premieres Thursday, April 24 at 10pm on ABC.
