Korean-American Will Yun Lee was born on March 22, 1975 in Arlington, Virginia. He is the son of a Taekwondo Grandmaster and he attended UC Berkeley on an athletic scholarship for the Cal Taekwondo team. He was first popularized by his role in
Witchblade, which led him to be named as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People Magazine in 2002. After that, he appeared on numerous films such as
Die Another Day,
Torque and
Elektra. Lee is also one of the actors interviewed in the 2006 documentary
The Slanted Screen, directed by Jeff Adachi, about the representation of Asian and Asian American men in Hollywood.
Jae Kim is played by Will Yun Lee in the new NBC series
Bionic Woman. Jae is one of the Bionics program team members led by director
Jonas Bledsoe.
