American actress and singer Lucy Kate Hale was born on June 14, 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee. She got her start in 2003, when she joined the talent search American Juniors. The short-lived spin-off of the wildly successful American Idol enabled her to become one of the winners. She was actually the oldest member of the band, which she became part of by singing the 1980s hit “Call Me.” She eventually released an album with the group, also called American Juniors, in 2004. They eventually disbanded in 2005.
Since then, Hale had considerable success in acting. After her stint on American Juniors, she played guest roles in shows such as The OC, How I Met Your Mother, Drake & Josh and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. In 2007, she got her first regular television role, when she joined the cast of the short-lived reboot of the classic series Bionic Woman. She played the role of Becca Sommers, the sister of lead Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan). That same year, she got a recurring role in Wizards of Waverly Place, playing Justin Russo’s goth girlfriend Miranda Hampson. Hale has also filmed an ABC pilot for the show Secrets of a Small Town. She later became involved with the FOX network, appearing on another pilot titled The Apostles. Her next spot was with CBS, portraying Brittany Jane in the production American Family.
Hale’s other projects include a role in the film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and a regular role in the television series Privileged. She was cast in the part of Rose Baker, acting alongside Joanna Garcia, Anne Archer, Kristina Apgar, Brian Hallisay, Ashley Newbrough and Rachel Boston. Lucy Hale has also announced that she has been working on a yet-untitled solo album. In 2008, Hale landed a part in the thriller Dead End, also starring Haylie Duff, Kyle Schmid, Aaron Ashmore and Brenaa O’Brien.
