Amy Kathleen Sloan was born on May 12, 1978 in Gladstone, Manitoba. She lived on the Sandy Bay Reserve for the a year before her family moved to Pelly Crossing, Yukon, a small First Nations village on the road between Whitehorse and Dawson City in Yukon, Canada. After a while her family again moved to Watson Lake and lived there for twelve years, during which her brother Gareth was born. They moved back to Whitehorse in 1992 and there she concluded her high school studies. While doing so, she was active in school and community plays, and after two years of selling programs for a Whitehorse vaudeville show, Sloan received her first professional acting job in The Gaslight Follies at the historical Palace Grande Theater in Dawson City, Yukon. After finishing school at the National Theater School in Montreal, she listed with Rozon-Mercer Management. Since then, Sloan has appeared on television series such as Cold Case, CSI, Numb3rs, Gilmore Girls and the latest series from ABC, Big Shots.

Wendy Mixworthy is played by Amy Sloan on the television series Big Shots. Wendy is the wife of Karl Mixworthy, a loveable pharmaceutical executive. His life turns around when Wendy becomes best friends with his mistress.
