'Big Shots' Star Still Has Hopes for the Show
ABC's Big Shots hasn't exactly become a hit with viewers and critics, but show star Joshua Malina is still hopeful that the dramedy will be renewed for a second season.

“It's a hot topic among the four of us. I'm doing an ABC promo shoot. I take that as hopeful,” Malina told TV Guide.  “We're having so much fun together, it would be a shame to end.  If I'm going to work, I'm going to laugh.”

On Big Shots, Joshua Malina plays Karl Mixworthy, a successful CEO who is cheating on his wife. He says that while has a good time portraying Karl, he doesn't understand why his character's friends and fellow CEOs are eager to spend time with him.

“He's bad at everything: He's short, unfunny, cheap, bad in bed and unfaithful.  I enjoy playing him, but why those other guys want to hang out with him, I'm not sure,” he told TV Guide.

That said, Malina's Karl just might be able to redeem himself to viewers in tonight's Big Shots episode, “Who's the Boss?” which is the show's last pre-strike installment.

In “Who's the Boss,” Karl and the pregnant Marla (Jessica Collins) finally come clean to Wendy (Amy Sloan) about their affair and the pregnancy.  Meanwhile, Lisbeth (Paige Turco) takes control of Reveal after Terrence's (Paul Blackthorne) death, James (Michael Vartan) and Katie (Nia Long) work on their relationship, and Brody (Christopher Titus) tries to hide his new apartment from his wife, Janelle (guest star Charisma Carpenter).

Guest stars in tonight's episode include Bruce Nozick as Ed Decker, Amanda Tosch as Natalie, Paul Ganus as Detective Winters and Amy Price-Francis as Victoria Hill.

After tonight's broadcast, fans of Big Shots will have to wait and see if the network decides to give the show a second chance.  There'll still be a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the show should it receive a renewal, however, as the WGA strike has yet to be resolved, which means production on most scripted shows are still out.
