Born on November 18, 1974 in Darien, Connecticut, Chloe Sevigny attended Darien High School. Upon moving to Manhattan at the age of 18, she was discovered by a fashion editor due to her distinct style and was asked to intern at a magazine. Gradually, she ventured into modeling, appearing in magazines and representing various fashion labels. As an actress, she got her first break in the independent film
Kids. This was followed by several other films that were deemed as cult classics such as
Trees Lounge, Gummo, Palmetto, The Last Days of Disco, and
Boys Don’t Cry, where he was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the Oscar and the Golden Globe.

Big Love, she portrays Nicolette "Nicki" Grant, which gives her the opportunity to play a woman married to a polygamist.
