Last time we saw Ana, she married Bill (
Bill Paxton) as his fourth wife but then divorced the family shortly thereafter in the third season. But it seems that
Big Love fans have not seen the last of the pretty Serbian woman.
According to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Ana's portrayer, Branka Katic, will reprise her role on
Big Love as the drama kicks off its fourth season early next year.
"I'll be back to cause some trouble," teased Katic, acknowledging that Ana disappeared rather hastily following her quick marriage-divorce to Bill. "I think she's somewhere out there licking her wounds. I think she divorced out of pure compassion because the damage she was causing the family was something she certainly didn't want to happen."
Ana was introduced in a three-episode story arc on
Big Love as a waitress at a local diner who has captured Bill's attention, which resulted in Margene (
Ginnifer Goodwin) encouraging Bill to bring Ana into the family as Bill's new wife. Margene befriended Ana after seeing Bill flirting with her, and monitored Bill and Ana's brief fling through this friendship. Though Ana was reluctant to become part of Bill's family, she eventually accepted Bill's proposal and married him. However, things didn't turn out as planned as Ana refused to give in to the living arrangements and pool her earnings. Consequently, Ana wanted out of the marriage and asked Bill for a divorce.
Aside from her upcoming stint on
Big Love, Katic will be seen in the crime drama movie
Public Enemies, which follows the Feds as they try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s. She has also been cast in the feature drama project
Zena sa slomljenim nosem.
